A Great Fly Rod At An
In June of 1999 I was attending a Conclave of the
International Fly Fishing Association on the Green River in
Utah. My name was drawn as the winner of a G. Loomis GL 3
fly rod blank. The model that I won is the F1085 which is a
nine foot, two piece, five weight fly rod. I've always owned
and used Sage Fly Rods and prior to winning the Loomis blank
I'd only cast this brand a few times.
During the past month I found a
little spare time between tying flies and fishing the Spring
Creeks in Paradise Valley to build my G. Loomis GL3 fly rod.
I took it out on the stream about
a week ago and couldn't believe what a pleasure it was to
cast. The action was beautiful. The line shot through the
guides effortlessly. Truly a great casting and fishing
instrument. I plan to purchase another GL 3 perhaps a 6 foot
six inch or 7 foot 3 weight. If you are just beginning or
have been fishing for years I urge you to try the G.Loomis
GL3 fly rods. You won't be disappointed and at only $112 for
the blank that I built it's a steal.
